Rob Cornell - Coach
Rob is originally from Allegan, Michigan, U.S.A. He began his professional tennis coaching career in
1973 and in 1976 joined Peter Burwash International (PBI), the world’s largest tennis management
company. His principle assignments have been in the Middle East as PBI’s Middle East Director from 1979 to 1990. Based in the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Oman, he co-coordinated the operation and direction of over 25 tennis facilities within the Middle East and Africa.
Career highlights include coaching Daniela Di Toro to the Worlds Number One Ranking singles player in wheelchair Tennis and seeing another of his students, Indian Mahesh Bhupathi reaching the Number One Doubles Ranking on the ITF tour with partner and fellow compatriot, Leander Paes. Rob assisted the Indonesian Davis Cup Team to advance into the Davis Cup World Group for the first time in their history of Davis Cup play.
Rob was also the coaching co-coordinator at Melbourne Park, the home of the Australian Open Grand Slam Tournament. In 2004 Rob spent 7 years in Hong Kong as the PBI Tennis Director at the American Club and in 2012 transferred as Tennis Director at the American Club in Singapore. He holds a USPTA Elite Pro qualification.
David Edgar - Coach
David Edgar is from San Antonio, Texas, U.S.A. David has been teaching professionally in international locations for the past 10 years. Having worked with world leading tennis management company Peter Burwash International (PBI), David has coached in both resorts, private and public clubs around the world. David is a former USTA Boy's 18 National Team Coach (2007-HPS). During his tenure at the exclusive Turtle Bay Resort in Hawaii, David was named the Runner Up for “PBI Professional of the Year”. His most recent position in Singapore was Director of Tennis at The American Club where he oversaw the tennis program for over 400 participants. David approaches his instructional style with the primary focus on individual player needs, having fun, and getting a great workout. David is the instrumental force behind bringing Cardio Tennis and USPTA coaching clinics to Singapore. He holds a USPTA Elite Pro qualification.
